About Us
Bruce Village Chiropractic is a new chiropractic clinic in downtown Port Elgin, Ontario. We are experts in the diagnosis and management of a variety of conditions affecting the muscles, joints, and nervous system. We help you understand your health, injuries, and pain, and provide manual therapy and rehabilitation based on current evidence and your goals for care.
Services
Education
Knowing about your condition so you feel in control of your body and your health is one of our primary goals. Knowing what aggravates and what relieves your pain or injury is one of the most important steps of your recovery.
Chiropractic
Chiropractic care is a manual, or hands-on, therapy applied to the muscles and joints. Joint care may include assisted range of motion, mobilization, or adjustment and muscle care may include stretching, activation, or release.
Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation is integrated into your plan from your first visit. Evidence tells us that movement is an important element to injury and pain recovery, so we create a plan with you that suits your goals and values.
Virtual Care
Now available!
You can now visit with your chiropractor from the comfort of your own home. This is a great way to receive advice and coaching with the tools you have available, on-hand, in a comfortable space.
Acupuncture
Now available, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an adjunct therapy some chiropractors use to help relieve pain or release tight muscles. A very fine sterile needle is placed at strategic points.
Our Interests
Pelvic Pain
The pelvis is a highly functional, complex region of the body. Dr. B is interested not only in its anatomy, but the psychosocial and cultural impact of pelvic pain for persons of all genders and all ages.
Often the management of pelvic pain does not just include manual therapy or rehabilitation exercises, but also understanding of its impact on your daily activities and family life.
Pregnancy & Postpartum
We have additional training in providing safe and effective care to pregnant and postpartum patients, including exercise advice and pain management:
Rost Therapy for management of pregnancy-related pelvic pain
Pelvienne Wellness core muscle and pre/postnatal fitness certifications
Doula School birth worker education
Pediatrics
Dr. B has provided care to youth and young athletes of all ages and abilities.
She created and implemented rehabilitation and manual care plans for children with complex disabilities as a Chiropractic Intern at the Aptus Treatment Centre Childrenβs School.
She also learned about the dynamics of high level athletics as an Athletic Trainer with a variety of youth sports and organizations.
