What to Expect During Your Treatment
1: Discovery Call
Before booking an initial appointment for Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), clients are required to schedule a Discovery Call. This initial consultation allows ReAnn to understand the reasons for seeking MLD, assess the stage of lymphedema, and discuss your goals and expectations. Additionally, this call helps determine the appropriate type, length, and frequency of treatment tailored to your needs.
Please note that although the discovery call is free of charge, if the first Discovery Call is missed there will be a fee of $30 for the second call.
2: Initial Assessment
Initial Appointments will last anywhere from one hour to two hours depending on the complexity of lymphedema. This appointment will not include treatment and will focus on assessing the client’s needs and establishing a plan for ongoing treatment.
3: Treatment
Treatments will include education, manual lymphatic drainage massage, and may include bandaging, wraps or compression garments.
Cases that need attention will have the opportunity to schedule consecutive appointments as discussed between the client and therapist during the initial appointment. Follow up appointments can be scheduled as needed depending on the complexity of the case and the goal of the client.
Before appointments involving bandaging, please shower or bathe, as the bandages should remain in place for several days.
